5 ways to engage sponsors in your virtual event

For many non-profits, event sponsorships are a significant source of revenue. Here’s a quick list to help get kickstart your brainstorming.

5 ways to engage your sponsors:

  1. Sponsor Sections: sponsor select parts of the virtual event such as the Live Auction, Fund-A-Need, Silent Auction, Raffles, Performances, etc…

  2. Underwrite: sponsors can underwrite auction packages, raffle prizes, etc…

  3. Software platform: sponsor the virtual auction software you’ll be using

  4. Be a part of the program: incorporate the sponsor into the live event such as a short commercial, product placement, and/or consider having them lead a revenue generating game (trivia, memory games, voting games, etc…)

  5. Product Placement: include sponsor’s product in gift bags, VIP bags, and/or auction item winner’s bags

What’s in it for your sponsors?

  • Visibility: showcase the sponsor’s logo and link more prominently in your virtual event’s broadcast, on the auctions fundraising homepage, bidding software, text messages, receipts, in your item descriptions, and more…

  • Branding: include sponsor in the event’s branding. For some this may be on the specific section they are sponsoring like the Live Auction where as for others this could be on the auction software homepage and/or in the advance social media marketing

  • Marketing: allow sponsors to underwrite one or more of your marketing HTMLs and be the presenting sponsor of said email

  • Give Back: this is your chance to Give Back to sponsors like your restaurants by encouraging supporters to purchase meals from them. Perhaps the resultant will give a % of sale back to organization that night too.
